Myrtle Beach with the fam...

July 4th weekend we met my mom ("Mimi"), my brother and his wife, Jessica in Myrtle Beach, SC for some family time and birthday celebrations.  Our family is full of Cancer signs.  My birthday is the 4th, Sean's is the 8th, my stepmom's is the 13th, my mom's is the 14th and Jessica's is the 15th!  So we have a lot to celebrate in July!  It was also so nice to get away and have a change of scenery.  Not that I don't enjoy the immense heat and beach time here in Fort Lauderdale but it was so nice to be with some of my family.  Hunter did awesome and had a blast with his Mimi, Uncle Matt and Aunt "J" (he can't quite say Jessica, yet so we just say "J"=)) .

He took a little time to finally warm up to the ocean and understand the waves and we kept his water shoes on him the whole time so his little feet wouldn't get burnt and he wouldn't have to deal with the whole sand between his toes that he hates.  Here's a video of him loving the ocean.  (Please ignore the large preggo woman next to him):

He loved scooping the sand if someone were to help him so him and Mimi enjoyed playing a little game that we named "scoop and dump" together..haha.  That's what we would say as he did it and he would say it with us but it was a great way to get him used to the sand.

Unfortunately, Hunter just couldn't stay up late to watch the fireworks so Mimi stayed at the house while us 4 went 3 blocks down to the beach to watch them.  It was awesome because other people brought their own to shoot off as well so we were able to see alot of them.  Afterwards, I was pooped so it was time for me to get home and pass out!

One night the 4 of us were able to go see a comedy show and the headliner was a guy named Pete Lee.  Hilarious.  Jessica booked the tickets online and I guess we were the fortunate ones to sit right up in the very front of the stage!  I really thought that we were going to be picked on the whole time but it was actually alright and we didn't have to weave through people's heads to see the show so it worked out.  Here we are right before the show started:

I always like to take a photo with all the comedians that I meet so here I am with Pete Lee!

In the mornings while everyone was still sleeping (lucky them =),  Hunter and I went outside to play.  My mom brought a little pool for Hunter. I  know he missed his big pool back at home but he had just as much fun.  Just giving him a hose and some buckets to fill up and he is a happy boy.  There was also a nearby park that was a few blocks from the house we played at and he loved it.  So Hunter was definitely not bored!  My mom also helped by bringing him a whole big tub of new toys that he loved going through.

We mangaged to make it to Murrell's Inlet one night for dinner (we were staying in Surfside).  We went to eat at Bubba's Love Shak! Hunter did awesome and sat in his highchair the whole time while Sean played cars with him!  We have been having a little issue with going out to dinner with him so a part of me was a little nervous of how he would act with alot of people around because of the holiday weekend.  It worked out because when he started to get ansty Sean just took him down to look at the water.  I think he was pretty pooped out from all beach activity that day so he wasn't fully energized like he usually is.

The picture that our waiter took was horrible and didn't realize it until later but here we all are!
Matt and Jessica needed to leave a day before us so we decided to go to the Ripley's Aquarium where I knew that Hunter would love seeing the "shishies" and "tuuurtles".  He had a blast seeing all of them.  He would pace back and forth and would yell for the "tuurtles" to come back and then he would see a huge "shishie" and would say, "Oh wow!" when it came by.  So cute!!! I love these moments with him when he sees all this new stuff. Its so neat to see him put two-and-two together when he sees a little fish that we have in our fish tank and in books at home and then he sees a huge aquarium full of bigger fish he gets so excited!  He had a blast!

We all had a great time and by the time we left, Hunter absolutely loved the beach.  He would know which direction we needed to leave the house in order to get to the beach so whenever we would leave to go to the store or go out he would point to where the beach was and yell, "beach!!!" .

I have to say that wherever we go there is never a dull moment with Hunter so of course one morning, Sean and I took him to go to one of those "Wings" stores to get him some new water shoes because the ones that Mimi brought for him one of them fell into the ocean.  So while we were at the store, Hunter was with me and then wanted to run over to Daddy who was like 4 feet away from me and as he's running over there a lady was coming up the aisle that he was crossing to get to Daddy and nailed him with her shopping cart!  Hunter hit so hard that he fell to the ground and of course, I yell, "Oh my gosh" and Hunter is crying his little heart out (and so am I!).  Ugh. So of course, Hunter got a shiner on this trip.  My poor baby. He is never leaving my arms again while we are in a store (lol).  The woman felt bad and of course apologized but what was I gonna do? Call the police on her (trust me I thought about it).  Anyway, of course he is fine now but this happened like the second day we were there so half of his photos he has a shiner in them and not to mention everywhere we went everyone noticed and had to ask.

Overall, we had a blast and can't wait to do it again.  Just next time, we'll have both boys!

Progress...

Well, I wish I had a lot to say about the progress of shifting around our house and getting it more organized since we got our shed and for when Tyler arrives buuuut we have done a few things.

First and foremost the reason for lack of progress is because my wonderful husband has been working a lot lately (JK....we both have been putting it off) and there is no way for me move anything or do a whole lot now that I am 30 weeks preggo (wow, time flies!). Which leaves us to 2 months before Tyler is here and I'm starting to realize that we need to get a move on.  Next week, we will be visiting my family in Myrtle Beach for our birthdays and then the following week, Sean will be visiting his family out in California which leaves us about 6 weeks left and on top of that working around his schedule.  Ahhh!  Priority numero uno  is to have another yard sale. This will eliminate so much extra furniture that we have going on in the house. Here is an example of what I’m talking about in our playroom/4th room:

As you can see, the chaise and the middle desk we are going to get rid of to make some more room.

I'm going to get one of those 8 or 10 cubed storage things from IKEA to clear this area up.

Belly shot!  Just threw this one in there!  haha.

We decided to get a new couch with a pull out bed because the guest room is now going to be Tyler’s room.  So if anyone comes to visit and wants to stay at the house at least they have a Queen pull out couch. It won’t be as comfy but hey, it works! We are going to hang the TV on the wall too because I can see the TV on the book stand being an issue here in the next few months with Hunter. Other than that I love this room because its Hunter (and Tyler’s) playroom and I have all of my toys out of the living room.  Finally!  Hunter still has his room with some too but I mostly see his room being a place for all of his books and other little things. I don't want it to be another playroom for when he gets a big boy bed.  I'm nervous about him getting out of the bed to go play...haha.

As for Tyler’s room aka guest room right now.  I will spare you photos of this.  Its an absolute disaster.  Well, ok, here you go. I may as well take a before photo and then when its done I can show the after photo.  (I only took one photo because you get the point..haha):

LOL!  Mess!  Once the bed is out of there and Sean finishes the shelving in the closet things will start looking more like a nursery.  (As for that suitcase..thats for next weeks Myrtle Beach trip).

Sean has managed to get all of Hunter’s old clothes down from the attic (0-9 months) so that I can go ahead and wash and get them ready to put into the dresser.  Actually that’s another thing, I can’t put them in the dresser because the one Tyler will use will be Hunter’s old one that he has in his room and we will give Hunter the one that is with the guest furniture!  We are literally switching all the furniture except for one of Hunter’s cubed bookcases into Tyler’s room.  Its time for a big boy room!  I have been wanting and somewhat debating when to get Hunter in his big boy bed but since I don’t really have room to get Hunter’s crib into Tyler’s room because of all the other stuff,  another reason why I can't do anything until we have the yard sale to get rid of stuff.  Which will definitely be before he is 2.  We are selling the guest bed.  I really don’t see us using it anytime soon so what’s the point of keeping it?   I have been posting stuff on craigslist and haven’t been quite as successful that I thought we would be (it wasn’t the price, because I listed everything more than reasonable).  They’re a lot of work but hopefully it will solve our space and shifting around issue in the house because this momma is starting to nest!

In the meantime, I’ve been getting photos and videos organized with Hunter to make for his one-year Shutterfly book to get that out of the way because Hunter has a birthday just about 2 months away!  Awwwww!!!  Can’t believe my little guy is growing up and he's going to be 2 already!  I have managed to go ahead and get a few of his birthday theme stuff so that when I’m literally 40 weeks preggo on his big day, I won’t stress.  Yeah, I don’t even want to think about the fact that they are going to celebrate birthday’s 4 days apart (according to my due date) so I’ve been pretending that Tyler will be coming way before. Haha. We’ll see.

As for talking so great how my pregnancy has been going in my last blog, yeah, I think I jinkxed myself on that one.  I ended up having to go to the hospital last week because I was having such horrible indigestion and heartburn that for 2 days I was throwing up and couldn't hardly eat anything.  My doctor had me go to the ER/hospital to make sure that Tyler was ok and to get some blood drawn and test my levels.  Turns out the baby was perfectly fine (no contractions) and they gave me an IV because I was pretty dehydrated along with some Zofran (anti naseau medicine) to keep me from getting sick and to be able to eat.  Soon after, I was starving and was ready to eat a buffet!  I was so hungry!  So, I ordered food from the hospital and they had me wait awhile afterwards to see how I felt.  I was there for about 5 hours and when I left, I felt soooooo much better.  They gave me a prescription for the Zofran for whenever I feel sick like that again and it's been working.  By the way, I have to eat way smaller meals, super bland stuff and I have to eat well before going to bed at night (like 5:30 when I get home) or else the indigestion wakes me up at night and I can end up getting sick later that morning.  Ugh...so anyway, its all worth it for this little guy and according to all those wives tales about having heartburn while pregnant, Tyler better have a full head of hair!!! My doctor tells me that most likely this won't ease up until he is born so I'm just managing it in the meantime.

Here's the nurse poking me to get the IV in me.

Sean sitting with me at the hospital and playing Candy Crush.
So, a little more than 2 months and we will have a new addition to the house.  Now I need to get a move on and get things ready!

Top 10 things I LOVE about being pregnant...

I am very fortunate to have gone through another pregnancy with hardly any issues. Really the only bad thing other than getting the Rotovirus and some colds is my heartburn but other than that I really can't complain at all so here are my Top 10 LOVES about being Preggo:

10. I don't feel like I have to maintain that flat stomach when I wear something a little on the tighter side.  I can feel and look bloated for a reason!
9. Maternity clothes are way more comfortable. Hey you don't have to worry about any button or anything jabbing into your belly or anything fitting super tight.  Oh yeah, wearing ballet flats are cute on preggo women.  You don't need to wear any heels of some sort.
8. You get extra care when you are out in public.  For instance, the 3 of us just went to Chick-Fil-A and Sean took Hunter to go play on the jungle gym that they had so I was left to get the food for us.  The manager came out from around the counter and told me to go ahead and sit down and that the cashier would bring us our food! I was like I'm not that preggo, but sure!
7.  You don't feel guilty if you go back for seconds =)
6.  Having a frozen yogurt is part of your daily diet. Also extra snacks!
5.  Your husband helps you more around the house.  Sean helps me pick up the extra toys around the house so that I don't have to bend over even though I do it multiple times throughout the day.
4. I'm still the sexiest one out at our pool.  Sean and Hunter are a tie for second.
3.  Pedicures are a must! Whether they are given to you by your husband (thanks, Sean!) or you get them professional done.
2. No pressure to drink when others around you are.  LOL!
1. A good excuse as to why you were late that day to work.  I admit I'm usually late at least once a week but it's not just me now that takes slower to get ready, it can be Hunter too!

Okay and in case you are curious about a few reasons that I have that are on my DISLIKE list of being preggo:

- Yep, can't come home on a Friday night and have that glass of wine that's been calling my name all week.
- You worry that your body will never go back to being skinny again (or at least somewhat back to normal).
- Getting up from the floor while playing with your son worries you each week on how you are going to get up!

Other than that, like I said, I have no complaints and I'm very blessed to go through another pregnancy with no issues and couldn't be any happier!  Can't wait to have my house full of boys even though I know I will be a busy mom!  BTW, last week I had my doctors appointment and I am at 22 pounds that I've gained so far.  I still have a little less than 3 months and they say you average about 4-5 lbs a month so it looks like I'm right under gaining the 50 lbs that I did with Hunter...keep your fingers crossed!

Here are some outtakes that my friend here at work took of me.  Almost 28 weeks pregnant.

What have we been up to?

I admit.  I've been a little slack on my posts, I guess I can blame the pregnancy and us being quite busy these days. So here's an update of what we've been up to.

First of all, my husband has been working his butt off.  I appreciate his hard work and helping us save some money before Tyler is here and even though we've been missing him, we've been enjoying the moments that we do have with him.  If he's not working a regular shift, he's been picking up OT at the Marlins and Heat games during the week:

Looks like he's hardly working, huh?

At Monkey Joe's on a rainy afternoon...."Weeeeeee!"

"Beep, beep!"

I'm currently 26 weeks pregnant. Please note that I had to look that up to verify that! Haha. This pregnancy I know about what week I am but not like I knew with Hunter down to the week and day!  I'm trying to just not think about how much farther I have to go because I think it will just go by slower. I have been starting to have some moments where I'm slowing down but I still pretty much have my energy.  This belly can get in the way at times =).  Me and Hunter have been playing so much with his cars and trucks.  He is definitely all boy. I love it though.  I would rather play with boy toys than girl toys.  I guess that is why God is blessing me with 2 of them because I can tolerate so much to their roughness and playtimes (for now at least).

Here's a recent belly shot of me taken at work. We were joking around with the liquor bottles one afternoon and got a little carried away...haha. (Btw, even if I could drink I would not choose a dark liquor anyway!)

Hunter thinks that Millie is a "horsey" sometimes so Sean put them both on his lap (poor Millie). Millie loves playing with Hunter. They're so cute when they chase each other around the house.

My mom (aka Mimi) came to visit over the long holiday weekend and we had a blast with her.  We didn't really do a whole lot but was so nice to just relax and enjoy each other.  We definitely had our share of eating (well, at least Tyler did) and Hunter really enjoyed being with his Mimi. He was saying "Mimi" all the time before she left and it was so cute to hear him calling her that.  She also got to witness Hunter saying his first 3-word sentence, "I see you (daddy)".  Sean was playing with his blanky and putting it over his head and would pretend that he was hiding from him and Hunter would yank down his blanky off of Sean's head and say, "I see you, daddy!!".  Ahhh, I love it!  He's definitely been picking up alot more on his vocabulary these past few weeks.  He's saying more now on his own and less on demand and its so cute to hear him just say them out loud at any time.

Morning before Mimi left.  (I know another "paci" shot!  I let him have it in the mornings for a little bit until he "wakes up" and we have been working at giving up it up but I admit it's tough =)

We also had a chance to take Mimi to the beach that weekend....it just so happened to be super windy but we still had a great time.  Hunter is still trying to get used to the sand between his toes and still trying to figure out what is up with those waves out in the ocean.

This is how much Hunter did not like the sand nor the waves when Sean put him down.  Haha.  I think he wasn't used to the sand being wet down by the shore and on top of the noisy waves he was not having it.  We're not giving up!

On the way back from the beach, we always stop at this park on the way back and let Hunter play and get all of his energy out.  This park is one of those state of the art parks.  We have so many around us but this one by far is his favorite. Everytime we pass this one, he goes bananas in his seat and starts screaming, "Park, Park, Park!"....

For Memorial Day we went to a family like place called Gulfstream Park where they race horses, restaurants, shops and  live music.  They also have an area where the kids can run around and the parents can sit around and watch them. I forgot my camera and my iPhone that night (my preggo brain these days) so luckily my mom had her camera with her so we took some photos.

We went into a children's store where they had a giant size Mickey and Hunter when bananas over it.  He was so happy to see him that I suggested to him that he should give him a kiss.  So he did!  Hunter has become quite generous with his kisses lately.

We love our Mimi!

We've also been switching around stuff in our rooms at the house.  We're almost done with the playroom and in the meantime we are getting ready to decorate Tyler's room!  I'll post pics when its all done but I admit, I'm am getting a little antsy on wanting to get the room done its just a matter of finding time for my husband to help.  He has been warned.

We're also planning a trip to Myrtle Beach to meet up with Mimi, my brother and his wife, Jessica next month and we're so excited!!! It will be my last vacay for awhile....a loooong while actually so I will definitely try and enjoy myself to the max with my family.  Can't wait!
